Owen-Withee School Board Hear Update on Facilities Plan

Friday, November 18th, 2016 -- 8:06 AM

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard an update on the Act 32/Facilities Plan at their meeting on Monday.

District Administrator Bob Houts reviewed what’s happened with the Act 32 Energy projects over the past couple of weeks. On October 20th, reps from Complete Control, CESA 10 and the district met to kick off the $1.75 million project. Bids for the roofing projects will be due on December 6th. Actual roof work will start in mid-April after the snow goes off. Installation of the pneumatic controls on the heating systems will start in late December and continue during evening hours and over school breaks. Installations of variable speed pumps on the heating system and replacement of the unit vent in the cafeteria will be done after this heating season is over. All work on the project is schedules to be completed before the start of the next school year.

The board also heard a review of the district’s Strategic Plan. Mr. Houts presented the board with a review of the strategic plan that came out of the planning process run in the spring of 2015. Several of the items have been completed. More items are what would be termed in progress and some have not yet been started. The board will continue to review the items on the plan and develop a list of what should come next in terms of implementing the plan.
