Marshfield Woman Charged with Scam

(Marshfield News Herald) -A Marshfield woman has been charged with scamming a man out of $7,500 for a Chevy Chevelle she never delivered.Angel L. Dupee, 36, placed an advertisement on the Craigslist website in 2015 offering a 1970 Chevy Chevelle for sale, according to court documents. A Birmingham, Alabama, man agreed to pay $7,500 for the car and deposited the money into a bank account, according to reports.
A Marshfield detective said he was aware of allegations that Angel Dupee and her husband, Dennis, had gotten other people to send them money to buy a Chevy Chevelle, according to court documents. Detectives had video of Dennis Dupee Jr., 39, picking up money sent to him by scam victims, according to the reports. Angel Dupee is scheduled to enter a plea in her Wood County case on Nov. 21.
