Neillsville City Council Approved Gazebo Use Beginning Dec.

Saturday, November 12th, 2016 -- 6:35 AM

The Neillsville City Council approved the use of the gazebo at the beginning of December.

The city will be holding their Tree Lighting Ceremony and a visit from Santa on Saturday, December 3rd in Sniteman Town Square.

The council also heard some information on the kiosks that have been built around town. They came together out of a placemaking exercise by the Neillsville Improvement Corporation and built with cooperation with other city entities. There is one in Snietman Town Square, another here at our station and a third by the arboretum. They can hold information on various events, meetings, etc. and have been well used already.

The item was on the agenda for the city council meeting on Thursday because many people have made comments that the kiosk panels facing the road by the gazebo and at the Listeman Arboretum are empty. The reason is because the 3 panel kiosks have the themes of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. The blank panel is the Today panel and they’re waiting on a poster of the community that will be put in that panel. The poster was expected months ago, but it has yet to arrive. When it does, they will fill those panels with the posters. A council member suggested putting something in that particular panel until the poster arrives as many people have been asking about it.
