(Mike Warren, WDLB) -A day after voters in the Marshfield School District approved a revenue cap exemption referendum, the Board of Education was thanking those who said "yes" at the ballot box.During their monthly meeting last night, members of the Marshfield School Board took time to thank voters for approving a four-year, 12-million dollar revenue cap override on Tuesday. Board President Marlene Stueland led a round of applause. Voters approved the referendum by a margin of more than 25-hundred votes. Superintendent Dee Wells said the referendum funding was a "need", not a "want", and will keep vital programs in place.
Also last night, the Board approved a motion to move the district's banking services to Forward Financial. Amber Kiggens-Leifheit made the motion on behalf of the Finance Committee, and said the switch would take effect beginning January 1st. And the Board signed off on annual naming rights for the High School Fieldhouse, which go once again to the Boson Company, which had the winning bid at a recent fundraising event for district athletics.
