Clark County Farmers File Timely for FSA Program Benefits

-Clark County USDA Farm Service Agency Executive Director Deb Esselman announced that producers, who file accurate and timely reports for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage, can prevent the potential loss of FSA program benefits.

The following acreage reporting dates are applicable for Clark County:
November 15, 2016: Perennial Forage, Fall Mint, Fall-seeded small grains, rhubarb, pasture, rangeland, forage, and cover crops
January 2, 2017: Honey
January 15, 2017: Apples, asparagus, blueberries, caneberries, cherries, cranberries, currants, grapes, hops, pears, and strawberries
February 1, 2017: Maple Sap
July 15, 2017: All spring seeded crops; including dry edible beans, dark and light red kidney beans, forage seeding, and all CRP acreage.
August 15, 2017: Processing snap beans, Cabbage

According to Esselman, Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program policy holders should note that the acreage reporting date for NAP covered crops is the earlier of the dates listed above or 15 calendar days before grazing or harvesting of the crop begins.
