Election Day is Here

Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 -- 11:31 AM

-Election Day has finally arrived.

The biggest race is the presidential election between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton. There are several third party candidates running as well including Darrel Castle of the Constitution Party, Gary Johnson for the Libertarian party, Jill Stein for the Wisconsin Green Party, Monica Moorehead for the Workers World Party and the Rock Roque De La Fuente for the American Delta Party. Some other big Wisconsin races include for State Senator, Republican Ron Johnson in a rematch against Democrat Russ Feingold. Libertarian candidates Phillip Anderson is also running against Johnson and Feingold. For Wisconsin’s Congressional Representative in District 7, it’s Republican Sean Duffy against Democrat Mary Hoeft.

Taking a look at some races closer to home, Representative of Wisconsin’s 69th District Bob Kulp is running unopposed on Tuesday’s election. Kulp is a Republican and the 69th district covers half of Clark County. Republican Kathy Bernier is running against Democrat Howard White for the 68th District of Wisconsin which covers the other half of Clark County. Democrat Kerra Stumbris is running unopposed for District Attorney and Republican’s Christina Jensen and Peggy Walter are running unopposed for Clark County Clerk and Register of Deeds respectively. A local contested race includes Republican Mary Domanico and Democrat Michelle Renderman running for Clark County Treasurer. Finally, there are two school referendums on the ballot. The few Clark County residents that fall within the Marshfield School District will vote for their referendum, while residents within the Colby School District will vote for their referendum. You do need a voter idea to vote in today’s election and I’ll have results for you throughout the night and tomorrow morning.
