Thorp Psychology Students Participate in Unique Project
Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 -- 12:00 PM
Some Thorp psychology students worked on a unique human development project.
The students were given an egg baby that they had to take care of for 16 days. The egg baby started as a newborn and after 16 days was in high school.
They had to keep a babysitting log and they had to keep track of the cognitive, social, moral, and psychosexual stages of their egg from newborn, toddler, preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school years.
They had to select a parenting style and keep track of reinforcement strategies when dealing with conflicts of egg baby's development. Finally, they had to deal with 7 days of conflict. Examples include baby up all night, bed wetting, fighting in school, shoplifting, and dating.
