The council also approved the hiring of a new police officer. After conducting interviews, the Personnel Committee recommended to hire Dulcie Lilly as full-time Police Officer at $20.25/hour. Chief Schade reported that Dulcie has 8 years of experience and was working at the Thorp Police Department. A medical exam and drug test need to be completed and passed and the council did approve the hiring, but two council members voted no.

Finally, the council heard the CDC’s report. Tim Swiggum reported that Autumn Fest was held on October 22nd. Events included a chili recipe and apple desert contest. Many vendors attended and there was a good crowd for the polka music. The haunted house at the Woodland had 100 people Saturday night. He also stated that the ad for the Clark County Visitor’s Guide for 2017 is almost ready and the Owen-Withee Chamber of Commerce is looking to hold a new event in 2017.
