Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.District Administrator Bob Houts reported that the Board of Commissioner of Public Lands has approved the $1.75 million loan for the Act 32 project that the district is set to complete this year. He also reported the 2009 Chevy van was involved in a deer collision on Sunday morning and will need to be repaired. Finally, he notified the board of the progress being made in creating an insurance cooperative with area school districts to help reduce health care costs. More information will be coming in the next few months on this promising opportunity.
Also, Mrs. Wendler read a thank you note from the OWEA for the opportunity to sit down and discuss issues on October 12th. The chance to be heard on several topics was greatly appreciated. She also read a thank you note from the Susan Beck Family for the plant the district sent in memory of her father who passed away. Mr. Schmelzer also had questions regarding the amount of concrete need for the elementary playground project that was completed in August. Mr. Milliren has a question about the vendor, Chubb, who is one of the district’s insurance providers. Claims were approved as presented.
