Neillsville City Council Hears Committee Reports

-The Neillsville City Council heard several reports at their meeting on Tuesday.For the Public Works Department, the usual amount of work was done in the city including equipment maintenance, cemetery and parks maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, hauled brush and compost, street sweeping and more. They are continuing to pick up leaves and they remind residents not to put branches, garden and flower waste with the leaves as it plugs up the vacuum. The also emptied the sludge from the sewer tank, finished flushing hydrants and more. The council also heard the report from the Heritage Days Committee meeting held on October 13th. They discussed food vendors for 2017, were presented information on possible bands, discussed games and activities and more.
Finally, the council heard the Finance Committee report from that meeting held on October 12th. They saw the wage schedule for 2017 and made various changes to lines of the budget. The total expenditures came to $3,391,097, revenues came to $2,321,924 and the Net City Levy came to $1,119,817, which was an increase of $20,213 over last year’s levy. The budget and levy will get final approval from the council during their first meeting of November, which is being held Thursday, November 10th due to elections on the first Tuesday, November 8th.
