Greenwood School Board Approves District's Budget

-The Greenwood School Board held a special meeting on Monday to approve the 2016-17 district budget.The board approved a total budget of $5,702,660. The district will receive 44.5% of its revenue from general state aid, 41.1% from local property taxes and 14.4% from specific federal and state grants/projects and fees.
The local mill rate is down 17.4%. The rate in 2015-16 was $13.07 per $1000 of equalized property value and will be $11.13 per $1000 of equalized property value for the 2016-17 school year.
