Neillsville School Board Finalizes 2016-17 School Year Tax Levy

-The Neillsville School Board finalized the tax levy for the 2016-17 school year at their meeting Monday afternoon.The board finalized the total levy of $3,856,248. The district will see a lower levy and tax rate for this school year. It was also stated that for the 3 year average, the district has lost almost 30 students. The board also approved releasing funds to the class of 2016 in the amount of $619.83, which will be placed in an account at a local bank.
The board also approved a $2,000 donation to the Jr. Achievement Program. The program is doing much better financially and continues to offer great opportunities for the students of Neillsville. Finally, the board approved several Youth Options Requests. These allow students to take courses offered by colleges and tech schools to receive duel credit.
