Public Works and Officer's Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works report at their meeting last week.The usual amount of work was done in the city including equipment maintenance, parks and cemetery maintenance, mowing, wedding, hauling brush and compost, cleaning storm drains, street sweeping and more. They also helped with Autumn Harvest Fest setup and take down and took care of storm damage as well. The department will also start leafing pick up soon and they remind residents not to put election signs up in public right of ways.
The council also heard the Report of Officers. The Neillsville Police Department has been working on the hiring of two new officers. The department was allowed to give a tentative offer of employment to two candidates during a Police and Fire Commission Meeting held on September 29th. That hiring process is continuing along with the first candidate expected to start around November 1st. For the month of September, the department had 143 complaints, 70 service calls, 46 traffic citations, 74 traffic warnings, 4 crash investigations, 19 ordinance citations, 15 adult arrests, 2 cases referred to the D.A., 4 juvenile cases and 23 parking citations.
