Sunday, October 16th, 2016 -- 6:51 AM
-The Granton City Council heard an MSA update at their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, a change order with a cost deduction of $11,995 for a number of items that came in under budget was presented and approved as was the final pay application for Steen in the amount of $31,420.99. It was also requested that the village place on next month’s agenda the approval of the 4th phase of the Phosphorus Compliance contract with MSA for a cost of $15,000. The DNR requirement for phosphorous compliance is .075. The village is currently at .56. A village employee also received his Galaxy S5 cell phone and converted all his village contacts to his new phone. The SCADA App is now installed as well and it can control and view issues at the well houses without being on site.
The council also heard an update on the sidewalk restoration project. Due to the flooding, the continued rain and the limited time before winter, the sidewalk repairs on Main Street in front of Maple Works may have to wait until spring, but they’ll see if they can fit it in yet this fall. There were no updates on the covered picnic table and park donations. The village currently has $550 earmarked for this project with most of it being donated.
