Marshfield Area United Way Looking for Volunteers for National Make a Difference Day
Saturday, October 15th, 2016 -- 6:04 AM
-Marshfield Area United Way is recruiting volunteers to participate in National Make a Difference Day, Saturday, October 22nd from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.On this morning, participants will be raking leaves for elderly and disabled Marshfield residents in need of assistance with their yards. Make A Difference Day is a great event to help out your community with friends, family, classmates, church groups and/or co-workers. A little bit of time, a little bit of muscle and a lot of heart will make a big difference for Marshfield residents who are physically unable to rake their lawns themselves. Volunteers interested in helping on this day can register at www.volunteermarshfield.org, by sending an email to [email protected], or by calling 715-384-9992. Volunteers are asked to register in advance so United Way can estimate how many lawns can be raked during the event.
Volunteers will gather at Marshfield Area United Way, 106 West 1st Street (rear entrance of United Way office), at 8:30 the morning of the 22nd to receive instructions and lawn assignments. United Way asks that volunteers bring their own rakes and have their own transportation. A light snack and water will be provided. Residents in need of assistance with their lawns should call United Way to see if they qualify for assistance. Please note, anyone receiving help on this day must be home on the morning of October 22. Additionally, residents are responsible for providing enough leaf bags to bag all the leaves raked by the volunteers.
