A Few Items Approved at Owen City Council Meeting
Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 -- 8:04 AM
-It was a relatively quiet night for the Owen City Council at their meeting last week. They began the meeting with a public hearing on the Facility Plan for the Main Wastewater Lift Station #1 and addressed concerns from the public and council. It was also stated that the motion to open Owen ATV routes was again made at the County with no second, so the county roads remain inaccessible. The council also voted to send an offer to purchase city land to the Planning Committee.
Finally, the council heard the CDC’s Report. Tim Swiggum reported he is still working with Heartland Co-Op and Plains Gas is looking to add on to the rail spur for more track storage, which will require a road easement to be abandoned. A County D property survey is being worked on, Pippins Street Dance was a success with no issues reported and a Haunted House using the Woodland basement in being considered. Autumn Fest will be October 22nd, with a Chili Cook off, desert bake off, vendors, music, bon fire and more. And the garbage contract will be completed when remaining signatures are obtained.
