Clark County Social Services Taking Applications for Home Energy Assistance Program

-The Clark County Department of Social Services will be taking walk-in applications for the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program for the 2016-17 heating season which began on Saturday.Approximately 1,187 households were assisted last heating season. Appointments will be managed on a first come, first served basis. The department asks that you do not call for an appointment. For this week, they’ll be available at the Clark County Courthouse on Tuesday, October 4th and Thursday, October 6th from 8:30am-3:30pm. They’ll also be at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center on Friday, October 7th from 9am-3:30pm.
You’ll need to provide documentation for all household gross income for the last 3 months, driver’s license, if you haven’t applied before, and a heating and electric bill. Income for people who are self-employed, farmers or seasonal workers is based on federal income tax forms for the previous year of 2015. For Clark County residents who are age 60 or older, the Clark County Aging Department will assist with application completion. Please contact the Clark County Aging Department for more details.
