Neillsville City Council Approves Replacing HVAC System at Sewer Plant

Thursday, September 29th, 2016 -- 11:17 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved the replacement of the HVAC system at the sewer plant at their meeting on Tuesday.

They were having issues with the HVAC system at the plant and the contractor is unable to get replacement parts for the system anymore, so the system needs to be replaced. The cost, with duct work, comes to $9,400. This item was approved during the Public Works portion of the meeting and then approved during the regular Common Council meeting. The council also approved the closure of Armory Avenue from Hewett Street to Court Street for the Autumn Harvest Fest. This ally is going to be used by several groups during the Autumn Harvest Fest and although it isn’t used often, the Chamber felt it would be better to have it officially closed by council approval.

The council also accepted property on 303 W. 15th Street. The county board passed a resolution giving Neillsville the opportunity to take possession of the property. There are back taxes as well as other costs associated with the property, but it would only cost Neillsville $30 to take it due to deeding purposes. The owner of the property would have the opportunity to take possession of it again, but only if she pays the back taxes by mid-October.
