Employment Matters at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the resignation of Jane Haas from her teaching assistant position, Kaleb Grap from his weight room supervisor position and Marcy Kunze from her homecoming advisor position. They also approved Samantha Pfeiffer for a C-team volleyball coach and approved the initial adoption of Policy IGDJA. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Tim Rueth reported on attendance, the installation of the Friendship Bench, picture day on September 29th, Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 6th and 7th, an Elementary Principal Conference October 12th-14th, STAR testing replacing MAPs this year and all grades PK-6th will be going to Standards Based Grading.
High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, goals for the 7-12 building this year, an open campus update, a Homecoming week update and a Focus school update. Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on a photo of the retired employees’ picnic, the Neillsville Kiwanis Club’s 95th Anniversary Banquet, the 6th Annual Autumn Harvest Celebration, a report by the Youth Workforce Task Force, an article on Wisconsin’s labor shortage and an article on rural districts competing for teachers. He also reported on an article regarding teacher shortages, an article on the Connecticut Education Funding System, commentary regarding the charter school drain on local school budgets, an article detailing the influence of corporate cash on politics and three Focus articles.
