-The Memorial Medical Center Foundation announced a partnership between MMC and the Clark County Prevention Partnership to bring a nationally recognized school outreach program to Clark County. The name of the outreach is “Rise Together.” Recently recognized by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, their presentation has been deemed by some as “One of the best school-based prevention programs in the nation.” Rise Together educates and guides local student through such tough issues as bullying, substance abuse, suicide, and addiction. The outreach will be presented to area Junior and Senior High School students during the month of October in Neillsville, Abbottsford, and Owen.
Plans are being made with other local schools to transport students to one of the outreach locations. The presentation will combine motivational speaking, personal stories, music and more during the two hour presentation to the students. Shawn Ganther, program coordinator for the CCPP graciously accepted a check from Shelley Janke, Foundation Director at MMC, to help fund the outreach.
