Clark County Board Approves Land Sale & Loan Request

Saturday, September 24th, 2016 -- 8:15 AM

The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved several resolutions at their meeting on Thursday.

The board approved a resolution for the sale of .47 acres of county land located in the Town of Mead at $4,000 per acre. They also approved the sale of 2.84 acres of county land at $4,000 an acre in the Town of Foster near Rock Dam. They also approved an application for the State Trust Fund Loan for county highways. The application asks for $1,550,000 to help with financing road construction in 2017. The loan is for 2 years and has an interest rate 2.5%. They also approved a resolution for Clark County to become an independent ADRC as Pepin and Buffalo County are terminating the agreement at the beginning of next year.

Finally, there were a few resolutions that didn’t pass. The first was applying for a $1.9 million loan from the State Trust Fund Loan to finance improvements to the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in 2016. This would have helped pay for a remodel to the Rehab Center. However, the resolution failed and the following two resolutions were not voted on because of it. The first resolution not voted on would have asked for $5.6 million to help pay for the remodel in 2017 and the second would have amended this years’ budget to include the improvements to the center.
