Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the various committee reports at their meeting last week.During the public works portion of the meeting, they heard about the usual amount of work done in the city including street sweeping, equipment maintenance, cleaning storm drains, hauling brush and compost and more. They also approved moving the 1st Tuesday meeting in November for the Public Works Department to that Thursday due to elections. They also heard the report from the Economic Development Meeting held on August 25th. The heard a presentation about the Regional Business Fund and the Connect Communities program. They also discussed the Midwest Living ad, the city brochure, the visitor center and more.
The council heard the Board of Cemetery Commissioners report from their meeting on September 6th. They saw the proposed budget for the 2017 for the Cemetery. Some notable items include a new shed and new mowers. They also heard the Parks and Recreation report from their meeting on September 7th. They heard about several items that were accepted by the board and sent to the Common Council where they were also approved including a building addition, haunted trails in the Listeman Arboretum and more.
