Finance Committee Meeting Before Neillsville Common Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council held a Finance Committee Meeting before their regular meeting on Tuesday.Besides approving the bid for the loan proposals for the TIF Districts, the council approved a few other items as well. They discussed the 2017 budget process as it is that time of the year again for the City of Neillsville. They approved to move forward as they usually do; however, one council member did make a resolution, which was approved, that by the 2018 budget, they’d like to be computerized with the budget process. They also discussed their contracted services like auditor, assessor and insurance consultant. The city will be continuing with their current auditor and assessor, but they’ve decided not to have an insurance consultant for now.
They also discussed the salaries and benefits for city employees. The council deferred those items to the Personnel Committee. Finally, they set a schedule for their budget meetings for the remainder of September and into October.
