Greenwood School Board Approves Several Items

-The Greenwood School Board approved several items at their meeting on Monday.The district’s Business Manager provided the board an overview of a draft budget for the 2016-2017 school year. They also heard the Vision Statement, Core Values, and Motto, but discussion was tabled until the October meeting. The board conducted a second reading of the 5000’s series of policies and approved them and they had first reading of the 3000’s and 4000’s series. They also reviewed student participation in the CWETN and Youth Option programs. Greenwood has 20 high school football players, 15 middle school football players, 30 high school volleyball players, 25 middle school volleyball players, 7 runners for high school cross country and 3 for middle school cross country. Summer School attendance resulted in 12 full time equivalent students.
All major summer maintenance and repair projects have been completed, they’re still waiting for delivery on a couple of pieces of equipment as part of the Tech Ed Department upgrade and an Open House event to showcase the new equipment and upgrades is being planned. Finally, the district has filled all positions and the temporary part-time office assistant position approved in 2015-16 was reclassified as a permanent part-time position at 25 hours/week.
