(Wisconsin Ag Connection) The National FFA Organization is awarding more than $1.5 million in college scholarships to nearly 1,000 students this spring.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, the agriculture education group says 26 Wisconsin FFA members were among the recipients of the scholarship program, which is available to students pursuing two-year or four-year degrees or vocational programs.
Some local scholarship recipients include Cortney Zimmerman of Spencer and Adam Zee of Marshfield. This year marks the 37th year for the scholarship program, which began in 1984 with just 16 scholarships offered.
Since then, more than $48 million has been awarded in scholarship funds through the National FFA Organization.
