Day One of the Central Wisconsin State Fair

-It’s day one of the Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield.Highlights today include the rededication of the world’s largest round barn, which is celebrating its 100th year. That ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m. On the grandstand stage tonight, fair Manager Adam Fischer says they have Home Free, an up-and-coming country western band. Tonight’s Home Free concert begins at 7:30. Tonight also features the market animal sale in the Jer Lang Show Palace at 7 p.m.
Thursday is Senior Citizens Day, with gate admission just five-dollars until 5 p-m for those 62 and older. The Memories will perform at 2 p-m on Thursday, replacing the legendary Howie Sturtz Orchestra which retired from the fair after last year. Thursday also features the annual Dress-A-Cow contest at 6 p-m in the show palace. Sunday is known as family day at the fair, with a group of five entering together for 30-dollars until 5 p-m. Monday is Veterans Tribute Day, when gate admission is five dollars all day for everyone 13 and older.
