Employment Matters and More at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board approved several nutritional items at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the Wisconsin Morning Milk Program, the Federal Milk Program and the Federal School Lunch Program for the 2016-2017 school year. They also approved the transportation agreement with the School District of Granton for the next school year. They also heard a report from District Administrator John Gaier. He reported on the WASB Region 5 meeting, statistics on average per pupil spending, the first lawsuit brought by a transgender student, an article on rural Wisconsin politics, two Focus articles, the Chamber’s Business After 5 and upcoming Teacher In-service Days.
In employment matters, the board approved the hiring of Michelle Grap, Jane Haas, Peggy Needham, Dana Nickel, Kaia McGuire, Leah Janicki and Connie McDonald for teaching assistant positions. The board approved a contract for Glenn Klueckmann, Heidi Magnuson, Mike McDonald, Todd Schmidt, Floyd Schoen, Marcus Schultz, Jan Shilts, Lynda Urban, Linda Winegarden and Randy Ystad for bus driver positions. They approved a contract for Wendi King, Trina Fuehrer and Daisy Werner for elementary teacher positions and Patrick Kyle for an elementary music teacher position. Finally, the board approved the resignation of Nicole Schalow from her special education teacher position, Myanna Lansing from her middle school language arts teacher position, Courtney Maenner from her high school English teacher position and Tim Voigt from his middle school basketball coaching position. The initial adoption of Policy GCE was also approved.
