Neillsville Woman Charged with Burglary in Multiple Counties Appears in Clark County Court

-A Neillsville woman charged with burglary in multiple counties made an appearance in Clark County Court on Thursday for the incident.According to court records, Jessica Hackett of Neillsville and her boyfriend, Nathaniel Clem of Illinois, stole a laptop and safe from Sterling Optical in Eau Claire. The couple took the safe to a restaurant in Lake Hallie where they tried to break into it. Hackett also said they broke into some gas stations in the Foster area in Jackson County. Hackett recently entered a guilty plea a charge of burglary of a building or dwelling and was sentenced to 5 years’ probation, 3 years’ extended supervision and an imposed and stayed jail sentence of 2 years in Eau Claire County.
Hackett and Clem have similar charges in Clark County Court as they were behind the vehicle break ins that occurred here in Neillsville at two businesses back in February. Hackett and Clem were going on a road trip to Lake Superior and thought it would be fun to burglaries vehicles and businesses on their way. In Clark County Court yesterday, she stood mute and not guilty pleas were entered on her behalf to the 8 charges of theft of moveable property filed against her. In all, Hackett and Clem are facing charges in Clark, Eau Claire, Jackson, Trempealeau and Adams Counties.
