Long List of Items for Neillsville City Council
Friday, August 12th, 2016 -- 10:25 AM
-The Neillsville City Council discussed a long list of items at their meeting on Thursday. The meeting was moved from its typical 2nd Tuesday of the month because of the primary elections. The council approved some old business from the previous meeting by approving the closing of the street for Autumn Harvest Fest. At the previous council meeting, it was discussed that closing all of Hewitt Street caused too much of a headache for many people in the area and some couldn’t even get to their homes. To rectify that, they decide that this year, the Hewitt Street will be closed from 6th Street to 4th Street and then open from 4th Street to Division Street.
The council also approved the Connect Communities Committee to be a sponsor of Autumn Harvest Fest for $800 and they approved a $100 donation from Tony Trunkel for the Neillsville Police Department’s K-9 Program. The department isn’t ready to begin the program just yet, but they are making the necessary preparations.
