Eau Claire Man Involved in High Speed Chase in Jackson County

-On Wednesday, August 10th, just after 4:30am, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper became involved in a pursuit after initially stopping a vehicle near mile marker 109 westbound in Jackson County for following too closely and unsafe lane deviation.The driver, identified as Devine Anthony Spencer, age 25, from Eau Claire, fled the scene at speeds of 100mph. A Trempealeau County Deputy Sheriff and an Osseo Police Officer were able to successfully deploy tire deflation devices near Osseo. The vehicle slowed and was stopped with a pursuit intervention technique. There were no injuries.
The driver was taken into custody and charged with fleeing and eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of meth, and a probation violation. Spencer is incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail pending court proceedings.
