Health Insurance at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board took a tour of the newly renovated gym at their meeting on Monday.The board was going to begin their meeting with the tour, but voted to move it to the end. After all board business was conducted the board members did go down to the gym and see the freshly painted floor, walls and the new bleachers as the gym renovation project has been completed.
The board also discussed health insurance changes. After reviewing the health insurance increase problem, looking at data from a staff survey on how to pay for an increase and the impact of various options, the board voted to approve Alternate 2, a WEA plan with a $2000/$4000 deductible, $25/$50 doctor office copay, $100 Urgent Care copay, $250 Emergency Room copay and $0/$10/$40/$80 prescription drug copay. They also approved reducing the district’s contribution to staff HRA accounts to $750/$1500. The changes bring what was to be a 19%, or $166,120, district increase in health care costs down to a 6.33%, or $72,310, increase.
