Five Students Win 2016 Spill the Beans Video Contest

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Five student winners have been selected for the 2016 Spill the Beans Video Contest.The competition encouraged Wisconsin 4-H and FFA members to create videos that share the importance of soybeans with urban, non-agriculture consumers. The first place prize of $300 for students in grades 3 to 6 was awarded to Mason Seidl of Marshfield. Adam Christofferson, Clinton, earned the $150 second place award, with $75 going to Annika Waltenberg, Amherst, for placing third. Each of the three students also received $100 for winning the Video Production Quality award.
The winning students in grades 7 to 13 were Roseanne Crave, Waterloo; and Dawson Firlus, Mauston, who also received $300 and $150, respectively. Bob Karls with the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board says the winning videos will be played during the Wisconsin State Fair this week in Milwaukee. The contest allowed students the chance to submit homemade videos that depict the importance of soybeans with urban consumers.
