Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the various committee reports at their meeting last week.The heard the report from the Personnel Committee meeting held on July 14th. This was the meeting where the pay increase for the Director of Public Works and the resignation of the Assistant Clerk-Treasurer were approved and sent to the Common Council. They also approved to advertise for Water/Wastewater Operator position. The council also heard the report from the Commission on Economic Development meeting held on July 14th. The commission discussed an ad placed in Midwest Living, current employment and housing issues. They also discussed the grant request process, properties available, housing possibilities and having a hub of information for people to access.
The council then heard the report from the Beautification Committee meeting held on July 20th. The committee also asked to have the Christmas lights on for the Christmas Tour of Historic Homes. They also discussed the 2016 season planters and baskets and discussed their placement as well. Finally, the council heard a report from the Connect Communities Committee meeting held on July 25th. They discussed empty buildings and marketing signs for those buildings. They approved ordering signs and discussed their participation in the Autumn Harvest Festival in October.
