Clark County Board of Supervisors Approves Administrative Coordinator
Monday, August 1st, 2016 -- 11:27 AM
-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a couple resolutions at their meeting on Thursday. The first was a resolution offering condolences to the family of Arden Hinkelmann, a former board member who passed away on July 4th. The 2nd resolution passed was the appointment of an Administrative Coordinator for the county. This topic has been discussed for some time by the County Board. This discussion began earlier this year when it was discovered there were legal concerns regarding how the county appointed their coordinator. This new position will not have any duties until the board creates them and the coordinator will help the county achieve their goals.
It was decide that Clinton Langreck would be hired at the Administrative Coordinator due to his work as being the Human Resources Director. The board will add an additional $20,000 to cover his duties in this new position. Having this positon offers the county some risk management and policy enforcement, long term planning, system accountability and more. In the end, the resolution was approved, but it was a close vote with 15 voting yes, 13 voting no and 1 member absent.
