-Unemployment dropped in almost all of Wisconsin’s cities and counties for the month of June.According to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, unemployment rates decreased or stayed the same in 29 of Wisconsin’s 32 largest cities. The rates also remained the same or went down in all but four of Wisconsin’s 72 counties. For Clark County, the employment level increased slightly to 3.8% from May’s 3.7%, but is lower than June of 2015’s 4.1%. Overall, Clark County ranked 64 of 72 for unemployment, compared to 44 in May of this year.
For our neighboring counties Chippewa is at 3.7%, 4.1% for Eau Claire, 4.2% for Jackson, Wood is at 5.3%, Marathon is at 3.9% and Taylor is at 3.9%. The local rates are not seasonally adjusted, so they can’t be compared to the state rate, which was at 4.2% for June.
