Marshfield City Council Approves Filling Open Council Seat

(Mike Warren, WDLB) -Marshfield aldermen are moving ahead with filling an open seat on the Common Council now, versus waiting until the next election in April of 2017.Current members of the Council voted 7-to-2 last night in favor of filling the 6th-district seat left vacant when incumbent Rich Reinart vacated the seat last week, after his family made the decision to move out of the city for another job someplace else. Alderman Alanna Feddick made the motion to move ahead with appointing someone to fill Reinart's unexpired term.
City Administrator Steve Barg says applications will be accepted for the position over the course of the next several weeks, and he's hoping someone can be brought on-board by the end of September--a critical time for the city, as aldermen begin to formulate budgets for the following year.
