The Highground’s Operation Persian Gulf Welcome Home Veterans Event, Day 6

The Highground’s Operation Persian Gulf Welcome Home Veterans Event continues this weekend.They have a full day of events planned for today including the Persian Gulf Honor Stone Ceremony at 9:30am. The dedication of the Tribute Benches and Barriers within the Persian Gulf Tribute will begin at 1pm with speaker Michael Hert. At 3pm the “Walk for the Fallen” begins with Being There-Reaching Out and Shilo Harris will speak at 4:30pm.
At 5:30pm, the official dedication of the Persian Gulf Tribute begins with the Missing Man Table Ceremony with Rolling Thunder Chapter 3 before that. Speakers during the dedication include Major General Dunbar, Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary John Scocos, Bobby Henline and Celeste Kaufman the mother of Charles Kaufman who was killed in action in Iraq. The color guard will be presented by Willis-Chapel American Legion Post #306 of Green Lake.
Finally, there will be music by John McCue & John Ward, Taps by Diane Babcock, the Quilts of Valor presentation and American rock band Madison Rising will perform with bagpipes at sunset.
