Register For the Chocolate Baking Contest At The Clark County Fair

Do you have a great chocolate dessert recipe?If so you should consider entering in the annual Chocolate Dessert Contest taking place on Saturday, August 13 at the Clark County Fair.
Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and judging will begin at 9:30 a.m. There is no entry fee but pre-registration is required. There are two divisions: youth ages 8 to 18 and adult age 19 and older. Each division is limited to 20 participants.
There are several requirements and guidelines you must follow including:
1. Contest is open to any individual; one entry per person.
2. Entry must be made from “scratch” (no mixes).
3. Recipe must contain two dairy products and a generous portion of chocolate.
4. Recipe must be submitted with entry on day of event and must list the ingredients, preparation instructions, and recipe author, and be printed on one side of paper.
5. Name, address, and phone number must be printed on the back side of paper.
6. Judging will be based on the following criteria:
a. Flavor
b. Overall appearance
c. Creativity (appearance, ingredients, etc.)
d. Moistness and crumb texture
e. Consistence (size and shape)
Cash prizes for both divisions for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. To pre-register please contact the UW-Extension Office at 715-743-5121 by August 1.
