Friday, July 22nd, 2016 -- 8:01 AM
-The Granton City Council discussed their constable assisting Chili with ordinance enforcement. The council was advised that Chili has 6 ordinances with no way to enforce them. They would like to utilize the Village’s Constable to issue citations. Chili will do all the warning leg work and if the complaint does not get taken care of, they would contact Granton’s constable to write out the ticket for the ordinance violation. The council will discuss the request and let Chili know and Chili’s next board meeting is August 15th.
They also discussed the sale of the old well property. The village contacted Jason Strey and advised that if he wanted the lawyer to draw up a contract for sale, the lawyer would charge $330-$600 dollars. Jason thought that was a little expensive and may opt to use an abstract company to save money. The village advised that if Jason wanted to buy the property he would need to do the leg work and let the village know. A motion was made by Schmitz to sell the property to Jason Strey for $1 and it was approved.
