Marshfield Planning Commission Approve Adult Family Home

(WDLB) -Marshfield aldermen will be asked next week to advance the approval of an adult family home, despite the objections of neighbors. The city's Plan Commission voted unanimously last night in favor of a conditional use permit which would allow Brad and Connie Porter to establish a four-bed adult family home at 414 East 19th Street, near the Central Wisconsin State fairgrounds on Marshfield's south side. City Planner Josh Miller said the Porter's have purchased a home on a double lot, and would like to convert it to an adult family home, with plans to convert the facility into an eight-bed community-based residential facility in the future.
In approving the permit, the Plan Commission did vote to add a few conditions. One prohibits on-street parking by staff members once the facility is up-and-running. The other is that the Plan Commission will review the permit approval one year from now. The Common Council takes up the Plan Commission's recommendation next week Tuesday.
