Owen City Council Approves Add-Ons for E. 4th Street Project

-The Owen City Council approved some add-ons to the East 4th Street Project at their meeting last week.The council approved the E. 4th Street Project to include Additive Alternative #1 for $16,879.06 along with a Base Bid of $564,184.49 to Haas Sons. They also approved awarding the Bid from Senn Blacktop for $30,230.00 for the Lehnen Street Project. During the Public Opinion Portion of the meeting, one resident asked what the cost of the goose round up is, will the cost be posted in the paper and will there be any more goose round ups this year and next year. It was stated that no bill has been received yet and there will be no more round ups unless decided by the Parks & Rec. Committee. Finally, after discussing two copy machine bids, the council approved to Lease the 3051c from Bauernfeind for $261.68 per quarter.
Finally, the council heard the CDC’s report. Tim Swiggum reported that the Dollar General has fixed the pool of water by cleaning the drain. The hitching post will be put up next week. The United Communities of Clark County have put out bids for County wide garbage/recycling contracts. The Curb Appeal Applications are now available and the Owen Junior Fair went well.
