Flooding in Northwestern Wisconsin Causes Nearly $30 Million in Damage

(AP) -Flooding from last week's heavy rains has caused nearly $30 million dollars in damage in northwestern Wisconsin.

State emergency management officials said Saturday that storms have caused nearly $1.8 million in damage to homes and businesses. Damage to roads, bridges and trails is estimated at another $27.8 million dollars.

Ashland and Bayfield counties and Bad River tribal lands are among the hardest hit. Ashland and Bayfield counties each sustained more than $5 million in infrastructure damage. The Bad River area saw more than $1 million in housing damage.
