Marshfield Man Found Dead at Rock USA

Friday, July 15th, 2016 -- 11:39 AM

(Katie Schaefer, USA-TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin) -A 40-year-old Marshfield man was pronounced dead Thursday after he was taken to a local hospital from Rock USA in Oshkosh.

About 1 p.m. the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office took a call for a medical emergency at the Rock USA campgrounds, said Lt. Tim Eichman. The man was found unresponsive in the passenger seat of a vehicle. Another occupant notified event security, who pulled the vehicle out of traffic. The man was not breathing. Security personnel, including a retired Winnebago County Sheriff deputy, began CPR.

The staff continued CPR until first responders and the Oshkosh paramedics took over and administered other lifesaving measures, said Eichman. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is unknown and does not appear suspicious, said Eichman. An autopsy with the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner's Office is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
