Colby Man Sentenced for Stabbing in Curtiss

-A Colby man involved in a stabbing that occurred at El Norteno's in the Village of Curtiss was sentenced in Clark County Court on Wednesday.On Saturday, November 1st of 2014, around 1:30am, the Clark County Communications Center received the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they made contact with the adult victim who had multiple stab wounds to the chest. The victim was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. According to authorities, the suspect, Carlos Jose Santiago Gonzalez, was drinking and arguing with the victim before the stabbing occurred. He was last seen by the victim leaving the area in an unknown vehicle. Gonzales had disappeared for a while after the incident, but on May 1st, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office arrested him.
During his plea/sentencing hearing on Wednesday, Gonzales pleaded guilty to aggravated battery-intended bodily harm. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 4 years’ probation.
