Field Day For Fresh Market Vegetable Production

UW-Extension of Clark County and the Central WI Produce Auction are sponsoring a field day for fresh market vegetable production.The date is July 15th from 12:00p.m. - 3:00p.m. at the Lavern Zeiset farm located at N14676 Resewood Ave in Withee. Topics and presenters include a tour of a new produce packing house, built according to the “Food Safety Standard,” Amanda Gevens, UW-Extension Specialist Vegetable Plant Pathology; Current disease concerns in vegetable production, Russ Groves, UW-Extension Specialist Vegetable and Applied Insect Ecologist; Current insect concerns in vegetable production and Farm Fixation; Vegetable production soil nutrient requirements.
There will be a field walk into a produce production field and this will be a rain or shine event so please dress appropriate. The focus of the field day is commercial produce production and not the home garden. If you have questions please call the Clark County Extension office at 715-743-5121
