Owen City Council Discusses East 4th Street Project and More
Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 -- 8:01 AM
-The Owen City Council heard a couple questions during the public opinion portion of their meeting last week.A resident questioned when the goose round up occurred and how many geese were taken, which was almost 30. They also questioned if there is a temporary ordinance or ordinance that would restrict dogs in the park during the Owen Junior Fair and Owen’s Mayor stated he will talk to Owen’s Police Chief about that. There was also a question on whether the ATV route signage has been put up. The council also accepted the Annual 2015 Compliance Maintenance Report, presented by Sewer Treatment Plant Operator, Todd Averill.
Finally, the council discussed the East 4th Street Project. Initially, they tried to table the discussion on it until the July 12th meeting, but it would have delayed the project another 2 weeks. Dave Krugler, of MSA Professional Services, stated that if the project was approved contingent on Principal Forgiveness funding, which may become known on June 30th, the paperwork and the project may begin, without having to wait until the July 12th meeting. In the end, the council approved the start of the project with that contingency.
