Wage Increase and More at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council discussed a long list of items at their meeting on Tuesday.

The council discussed a wage rate increase for part time employees and the police officer vacancy due to the resignation of Officer Bembnister. During a Personnel Committee Meeting held on June 23rd, the Director of Public Works, Dave Flynn, asked for a $10 for the top end of the hourly wage for part time employees of the Cemetery and Parks Department. The Committee agreed to send to the council a recommendation of having the wage be from $8.63-$10 per hour. They also approved sending the recommendation to advertise for a new officer for the Neillsville Police Department to the council.

The council also discussed extending rescheduling their meeting on August 9th and extending the hours of Schuster Park to 1am during the Friday and Saturday of Heritage Days. Finally, the council discussed an equipment grant with the Police Department for the “Click It or Ticket” Campaign and an ordinance wavier in regards to a property on the edge of town that has chickens.
