Memorial Medical Center Foundation's Donor Breakfast, Final
Monday, May 23rd, 2016 -- 11:48 AM
-On Thursday morning of last week, the Memorial Medical Center foundation held its Donor Breakfast at the Neillsville American Legion. Those in attendance got to enjoy a delicious meal and hear about some of the items their donations have helped bring to Memorial Medical Center the past year. They also saw a very emotional video about two families that received care at the facility.
At the end of the meal, I spoke with Shelly Janke and she told me about a new program the foundation is doing this year.
"The dedication stone is a new program that we brought to the community and really what we wanted to do was be able to provide a place where people can do a commemorative stone for maybe a family member or someone that's passed away or a loved one. And so in our gardens we're going to create new patios that will have the dedication stones. Every year we'll sell as many as we can and we will do a ceremony and actually get them permanently displayed in the gardens."
She also explained why the decided to hold this breakfast from year-to-year.
"We really wanted just a place where we could showcase the impact that our donors make. They touch our lives at the medical center in so many different ways by providing the equipment that we need in order to stay state of the art. It's a time that we can say thank you to our donors that are helping us make a difference and then introduce new people into the medical center and to the foundation."
If you’d like to learn more or would like to donate, you can contact Shelly.
"They can look at our website at memorialmedcenter.org or give me a call at the office, 743-8456 and I'd be happy to help them out."
As Shelly mentioned there were a host of items the foundation has helped secure for the hospital and there are several ways people can donate.
