Clark County Humane Society's Open House is Saturday, June 4th

-Clark County Humane Society is excited to announce the 2016 Open House on Saturday, June 4th, from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.This event celebrates the expansion of the FixaPet Program. FixaPet is a low-cost spay/neuter program which is available to anyone from anywhere. Since it began in 2007, over 10,400 surgeries have been performed. Clients have travelled from all over Wisconsin and even Minnesota to have their pets spayed or neutered at very affordable costs. As the program has become so very popular, scheduling has become a challenge. CCHS is totally dedicated to helping more pets and so has added an “East Wing” addition to the Shelter facility.
The “East Wing” features a new FixaPet surgery suite. The suite features state of the art equipment and will increase the ability to perform surgeries several days per week. Recovery rooms have the capacity for 36 cats and 22 dogs on a surgery day. Vaccination appointments and wellness visits will also be available on a regular basis. With this expansion CCHS continues the mission of helping as many people with their pets as possible and to make a difference for the pet overpopulation problem. Also included in the East Wing addition is an expanded kennel facility. Part of the PetSmart Charities Rescue Waggin’ program, CCHS has been a destination shelter since October 2014. Since that time, many dogs and puppies have come to CCHS from Southern Shelters where they are unable to find new homes. As CCHS has amazing adoption programs and is able to connect so many pets with their new forever families, these dogs and puppies have a much brighter future when they arrive at CCHS. The Rescue Waggin’ Kennel expansion includes 28 additional kennels for dogs and puppies in need of new homes.
The 2016 Open House celebrates the East Wing expansion and all of the good things going on at CCHS. The public is invited to join the staff and volunteers at CCHS to learn more about the Shelter’s programs. On June 4th from 12:00 ??" 3:00 tours of the facility will be provided. There will be opportunities to meet lots of awesome dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Games and entertainment will be available, including a Big Slide provided by Blue Lion Fun Factory. Blue Lion Fun Factory will also be bringing cotton candy! Other refreshments will also be available.
