USDA Announced April Class III Milk Price

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The USDA announced that the April Class III milk price was released at $13.63 per hundredweight.That was down 11-cents from March's price, and $2.18 below April 2015. The Class III price has averaged $13.73 so far this year, and is at its lowest level in over five years. Class IV component prices were six cents lower than last month's price at $12.68, and was 83-cents less than April of last year.
Last week, the USDA reported that Wisconsin farmers received an average price of $15.80 per cwt. for their milk in March. That was 30-cents below the previous month and $1.80 lower than last March's price; and was the lowest monthly milk price since July 2010.
